Part 1: Introduction

【M】

M is from Saga,

She is an elementary school teacher

She teaches all subjects , but her favorite is Japanese

Her least favorite is Science because it is difficult → ※Least favorite =苦手

She want to work in foreign country as a Japanese teacher some day.

She wants to teach Japanese children living in English speaking country so she wants to practice speaking English

She likes mountain climbing

She has climbed Mt. Fuji twice,

First time she succeeded and reached the top

Second time she couldn’t because the wind was too strong

He is from Korea- Seoul city

He lives in C

He works as a management in a Medical Device Company

His partners are from Germany and Canada

He regularly contacts them through e-mail　→※regularly =日常的に

Once a month they have online ZOOM meeting　

He also likes climbing mountains/

He recommends mountains inside of Seoul

On the north side there are big mountains

Next month he wants to climb a mountain but has not decided yet

He is not good at math, but likes Public health

He teaches Health class as a job to the elderly or people suffering from disease

He does not teach using heavy weights or rigorous activities →※rigorous = 激しい

Part 3

“Show and tell”

Mai

“PIano”

I have played the piano for (nearly) 10 years since at 4 (or since I was 4)

Now I play the Jazz piano 2 time a week

I can play Two songs, ONLY

The songs are “The girl of Ipanema” and “Morning”

Her favorite Jazz pianist is Chic Corea -He plays the piano song/ “Spain”

She thinks he is from“Spain”

I quit playing piano in 5th grade for school studies → ※school studies＝学業

Sai

”Cat”

His Cat came to his house on December 24th of last year.

That is why we named him Noel

The cat does not get along well with him well.

His other family members get along well.

He is trying to become friends with him

The cat takes "defensive position" on him

Beach sandals = Flip Flops(US) or Thongs (UK)

Flats sandals with no buckles = sliders

Patent leather = Leather with “glass coating”

Enamel = Artificial leather with “glass coating”

Chic ≒ elegant

Loose trousers= Thick pants

Leggy Trousers= thin/narrow pants↓

Join forces = ( in fashion ) to collaborate

Force = something strong

To force = to do something with power

Begging to be= Wanting very strong to be

Example :

Sai - I am begging my cat to be (good) friends with me every day

Mai- I am begging the school to accept me as an English teacher

Mai… I am begging the government to accept my visa

Sai… I am begging for boss to accept the proposal (but it’s taking so much time)

Mai… I am begging the project to be accepted next week

おまけ

I am begging you to get the work done by next week.

お願いだから来週までにはその仕事を終わらせてください。

I am begging you to give me a reply by today. We are running out of time

お願いだから今日中に返事をください。時間切れです
